University of Wisconsin Stout offers a wide variety off opportunities and experiences that will better prepare me for my future career . Through my experience in my major program of Video Production, I am able to further develop my knowledge of the equipment required in the production process. For example, how using different types of lighting setups achieve different redukts based on the narrative Additionally, I am able to improve my editing capabilities in the post-production process.

Considering going to stout? Let me tell you to AVOID AT ALL COST. Stout has done everything in its power to keep me from graduating by constantly dropping required pre reqs and then not compensating when I cannot get into a class because of said pre req. Not only will they drop them, they'll drop them just as everyone has already picked their classes, so getting into another pre req class is impossible. Then when you try to explain your situation in hopes to gain favor with the greedy and corrupt “team” that is the administrations office, they'll hit you with the “Damn that sucks” and move on. For example, myself as a senior had everything lined up my supposed-to-be last semester until stout curled their grubby finger silently muttering “nuh-uh” as they drop the dreaded speech class. Thus started my ONE AND A HALF YEAR war to get into this god damn class. I have so much more I want to say, but long story short: Stout hates you, you are nothing more than a walking money bag. Stay away

UW Stout is mostly just an average school for average students looking to grow through the “college experience” or the collage education system. Where other schools fail in connecting students Stout thrives because of their campus geography and student communities. The efforts made by the university administration and faculty exceeded my shallow expectations during my first semester on campus. On-campus events were always the topic of conversation and students never had to look far for some fun after classes had ended for the day. Student led clubs, organizations, and services kept students well informed and engaged while the year progressed. The food and housing services may require some further improvement, but college students make the most of their limited time and money on and off campus in Menomonie.
